NEUTRAL TONES

Thomas Hardy

"W

E stood by a pond that winter day,
And the sun was white, as though chidden of God,
And a few leaves lay on the starving sod,
--They had fallen from an ash, and were gray.(...)"

Another one from the series. Just like the first, it seems to be in black and white, but it isn't. It's just the effect of the natural light (I confess that, for this one in particular I applied a fixing filter to make it more grayish, but yet, it's not absolutely desaturated. I was standing against the sun, so the pictures turned out fine. I still can't understand how those guys could slide down a rock so finely, but I do admire them! They seemed to be having great fun!
